Ski Instructor Val d'Isere Les Arcs

Alain, from Bourg St Maurice Les Arcs, was born in 1960, just as tourism in the upper Isere valley, the “Tarantaise” began developing in a major way.

The resorts of Val d'Isère and Tignes were expanding rapidly at the time..

The first buildings in Les Arcs ski resort rose in 1968, so like all the children of his generation, the Les Arcs ski area became his winter playground.

Very soon, with his father or school teachers as instructors, he discovered the surrounding ski resorts; Peisey-Nancroix, la Plagne, La Rosière, Val d'Isere et Tignes.

A ski instructor in Val d’Isere and co-founder of the Initial-Snow ski school grouping of ski instructors and mountain guides, Alain will share his love of the mountain and skiing with you, on-piste or off-piste, in a safe and fun way.

You can also count on Alain to find just the right restaurant or to show you the ski area of your dreams from Val d’Isère to the far end of the Three Valleys and beyond.

Alain was also one of the pioneers of snowboarding in France, a sport he enjoyed competitively and as a coach before opening one of the first specialist board shops in the area.

He is also part of a research team with another ski instructor from Val d’Isère and two other ski professionals, exploring the impact “emotions” have on learning to ski (Inner Glide).
